The Equinox is a sacred threshold where day and night stand in equal measure. It reminds us that life is not about erasing the dark or clinging to the light, but about embracing both with presence and grace.
The date and time of the Equinox is Tuesday 23rd September 04:19am in Melbourne.
In our inner landscape, balance looks like recognising both our gifts and our challenges… our joy and our grief… our action and our rest. In life’s challenges, balance is what helps us stand steady — not by controlling what happens, but by finding a calm centre within ourselves, no matter what unfolds around us.
This Equinox, I invite you into a short guided meditation to experience this balance for yourself. Please stretch, yawn, move and release any residue tension that has gathered in your body and mind.
Our physical bodies are built to move and rest, sedentary lifestyles reduce the range of movement, so its always a good investment of your time, to stretch and move as often as your body needs.
Guided Equinox Meditation: Finding Inner Balance
Settle
Find a quiet space. Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and take a few deep, cleansing breaths
Ground
Feel the support of the earth beneath you. Imagine roots growing gently from your body down into the ground, steady and secure.
Breathe Balance
Place one hand on your heart, the other on your belly.
Inhale to the count of four, filling your chest and belly with breath.
Pause at the top, noticing the fullness.
Exhale to the count of four, feeling your body soften and release.
Pause at the bottom, noticing the stillness.
Continue this cycle, breathing in balance, breathing out balance.
Visualise
Imagine a glowing light on one side of you — representing energy, clarity, and action.
On the other side, imagine a soft shadow — representing rest, reflection, and release.
See them gently weaving together around you, holding you in harmony.
Integrate
Now, think of a challenge in your life right now. Breathe into it. Instead of pushing it away or gripping it tightly, let it sit in your awareness as part of your landscape. Notice how the light brings you courage, and how the shadow brings you wisdom. Both are here to guide you.
Affirm
Whisper silently or aloud:
“I welcome balance within me. I walk with light and shadow. Both give me strength.”
Stay here as long as you like, resting in this gentle wholeness.
This season, may you feel both grounded and expansive, enabling you to meet life’s challenges with steadiness and grace.
With love,
Caroline 🌸
